Cornelius Living / Standards

How we research and publish.

The rules behind every place profile, guide and itinerary.

Sources first

Place facts come from the business, the Town of Cornelius, Mecklenburg County, venue calendars and other official operators. Local press is used for openings and context and is named as such.

Researched, not reviewed

Profiles describe what a place is and how to plan a visit. They are not reviews and don’t imply a meal, visit or interview unless a story says so.

No invented details

We don’t publish hours, menu items, prices, ratings, awards, docking permission, swimming access or school assignments we can’t support. Those change, so we point to the source.

Lake access is specific

A shoreline park, a designated swimming beach, a boat launch, a private dock, a marina and a paid rental are different things, and we label them that way.

Events stay with organizers

We describe recurring traditions and link to the organizer’s calendar instead of repeating dates that go stale.

Ownership is disclosed

Cornelius Living is published by Nicholas and Miriam Peters, who own the Peters businesses mentioned on the site. Those mentions are not independent recommendations.

Images

Many images are computer-generated illustrations of Cornelius-style settings, not documentary photographs of the businesses named.

Why these rules exist

A guide built to stay accurate.

01

Evergreen by design

Cornelius Living is written to remain useful over time. Instead of repeating details that go stale — opening hours, menus, ticket prices, sale prices or event dates — every page explains what a place is, why someone would choose it and where to confirm current details.

02

Accuracy over completeness

When a fact cannot be confirmed from an official or operator source, we leave it out. A shorter, correct profile is more useful than a longer one padded with assumptions about parking, docking, swimming or school assignments.

03

Plain disclosure

Because the publishers own the Peters businesses mentioned on the site, those mentions are labeled and explained in the Legal Center. Independent businesses in the directory are never paid placements.

04

Corrections are welcome

Businesses, organizers and readers can report an error through the contact page. We check each report against the source and update the page when the source supports the change.

Important disclosure

Cornelius Living is published by Nicholas and Miriam Peters, who also own the Peters businesses featured here and may benefit if you contact or hire them. This site is not the Town of Cornelius, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, any homeowners association, developer, club, marina or other organization it mentions, and is not affiliated with them. Information and illustrative (often computer-generated) images may be incomplete, inaccurate or outdated; independently verify every material fact with the responsible organization or a licensed professional. Nothing here is legal, financial, real estate, construction or other professional advice. Read the Legal Center
